Operations consulting

Operations that let your firm grow without the owner doing everything.

In many professional firms the work is good but the way it gets done depends on a few people and their habits. Hexarch helps owners map how work really flows, find where time and margin are lost, and put in a routine that holds when the firm gets busier.

Where firms get stuck

  • The same job is done differently by different people, so quality and time vary.
  • Partners and owners are the bottleneck for review, approvals and answers.
  • Nobody can say with confidence which work is profitable, or how much capacity is left.
  • Recurring jobs, deadlines and handovers are tracked in inboxes and memory.
  • Taking on a new hire or a larger client makes things worse before it makes them better.

What we do

How Hexarch helps with operations

Workflow mapping

Map the main jobs from first enquiry to final delivery and billing. We find the steps that cause delay, rework or hand-offs that fail, and agree what a good version looks like.

Capacity, pricing and profitability

Work out how much time each type of work takes, who has capacity, and which services and clients earn their keep. The aim is better management information for the owner, not financial statements or accounting advice.

Delegation and team routines

Set out who decides what, what gets reviewed and by whom, and how the team meets and tracks work. Owners get time back, and staff know what is expected of them.

Tools, checklists and handovers

Choose practical tools and write the checklists, templates and hand-over notes that make the new routine stick. Where software is involved, your own team or an independent specialist sets it up.

What you get

A written operating plan with the workflows to change, the order to change them in, who owns each one and the date it is due, written so that it gets done. Many engagements start with a Firm Review or a Firm Growth Plan, and the work can continue through the monthly Advisory retainer. Scope and fee are agreed before work begins.

Scope

Hexarch advises on how a firm organises its work. It does not prepare accounts, audit, tax or payroll filings, or provide legal or regulated financial advice, and it does not take on roles that your firm’s professional body reserves to a regulated member. Specialist systems work is delivered by independent partners.
