Services and pricing
Services and fees that earn what the work is worth.
In many professional firms, fees are set by habit, by hours and by what the firm thinks a client will accept. Hexarch helps owners package their work into clear offers, set fees on value and effort, and keep scope under control once the work starts.
Where firms get stuck
- Fees follow habit or competitors’ prices rather than the value and effort of the work.
- Jobs overrun their estimates and the extra time is never billed.
- Very different clients pay the same, and nobody can say which services earn well.
- Fee increases are put off because the firm fears losing clients.
- The range of services has grown over the years and is hard to explain or sell.
What we do
How Hexarch helps with services and pricing
Service portfolio review
List what the firm sells, who buys it, how much effort it takes and how well it pays, using the firm’s own time and billing records. The result is management information for the owner, not financial statements.
Offer design
Turn the main services into a small number of clear offers, each with a defined scope, what is included and excluded, and how changes are handled. Clients find them easier to buy and the team finds them easier to deliver.
A fee-setting approach
Agree how the firm decides its fees: fixed fees, retainers, hourly rates or a mix, and when each fits. Hexarch sets out the method and the reasoning, and the owner decides the rates, within any rules set by the firm’s professional body or regulator.
Introducing change to clients
Plan how new offers and fees reach existing clients: who is told first, what is said, how the change is phased and how pushback is handled. A good fee change is a series of well-prepared conversations.
What you get
A written service and pricing plan: the offers to sell, how each is scoped, how fees are set, and a schedule for introducing the changes. Many engagements start with a Firm Review or a Firm Growth Plan, and the work can continue through the monthly Advisory retainer. Scope and fee are agreed before work begins.
Scope
Hexarch designs the pricing approach; fees remain the firm’s own decision. It does not provide accounting, audit, tax or legal advice, and it does not prepare financial statements or forecasts for lenders or investors. Firms in regulated professions remain responsible for their professional body’s rules on fees, engagement terms and client communications.
